Tilers
Wall and floor tiling is licensed building work in Queensland above the $3,300 labour-and-materials threshold, under the QBCC Wall and Floor Tiling licence. That licence already covers waterproofing for a tiler's own tiling — QBCC Regulation 2018 sch 2 pt 59 s 2(3) lists applying waterproofing as part of the class, so a licensed tiler doesn't need a second 'waterproofing licence' for their own job. A contractor who only waterproofs, without tiling, works under the separate Waterproofing class instead. The standard doesn't change: waterproofing must be carried out competently to the Australian Standard, and poor waterproofing remains the single most common cause of failed bathrooms in Brisbane's humid climate. A licensed tiler works within the building-work framework — including Home Warranty cover on qualifying jobs — that an unlicensed operator sits outside of. Every tiler listed here is checked against the official QBCC register — not self-declared.
