The Central Coast is the one place on this site where the council runs the water. Central Coast Council supplies its own drinking water and runs its own sewerage — not Hunter Water, not Sydney Water — so a new connection is applied for under the Water Management Act 2000, not the Section 73 process a Sydney job uses. It is also the local plumbing regulator, the coast sitting outside Building Commission NSW's inspection area. The coastline is low-rise: separate houses were 78.4% of occupied private dwellings at the 2021 Census, flats 8.7%. The council names Wamberal Beach and The Entrance North as places coastal erosion has already reached private land.
